5 Years of Road Tripping.


2014 marks our 5th year as crazy road trippers. We’ve explored so many great attractions across North America, and continue to discover new attractions that fill up our bucket list faster than we can knock things off it.
















Looking back over 2013, we`ve had some amazing memories. We`ve started to incorporate more hiking adventures into our road trips. This is a relatively cheap way to explore beautiful natural wonders around North America.

Here`s an overview of what we`ve accomplished in 2013:
What’s in store for Road Trip Blogger in 2014

2014 is already promising to be an exciting year of road trip adventures. Here are some of our upcoming trips for 2014:
  • Seattle: we will probably be spending a few days in Seattle this spring. I’d love to get to the Seattle underground walking tour, the aquarium comes highly recommended, I personally disliked the Seattle Space needle, I loved the Freemont troll, and would like to make my way down to the gum wall.
  • Glacier National Park - Many Glacier Area
  • Portland, Oregon: we’ve come across several hikes we want to accomplish this summer, the Oneonta Gorge, Misery Ridge Trail in Smith Rock State Park, and several of the falls along the Columbia River Gorge
  • Colorado: there are several hikes and roadside attractions we`d love to see this summer. It`s near the top of our list
  • A road trip to Maine and back. Might cross back into Canada to head to Prince Edward Island. The plan is to pass through North Dakota and come back home through Colorado.
  • Lake Havasu Falls hike. This is near the top of our list of things to do!

Four Corners Monument: The only place in America where 4 states meet

  This is a really interesting area of America. It’s the only place where you can find 4 states that meet. There are several states where you can find 3 states that meet, but this is the only place in America where you can find 4 states – those being Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado and Utah. Being from Canada, but also an avid road tripper, the first time I learned of this area, it was really fascinating, and we had to check it out. The drive up to 4 Corners Monument is spectacular, and worth a visit, but there isn’t a lot to do in this area once you get there, so it’s definitely an add on stop for an already existing road trip.   Getting to 4 Corners Monument While this area connects 4 states together, there are only 2 states that lead to this monument. You can access 4 Corners Monument from either Colorado vis Highway 160 heading SW, or from Arizona, along highway 160, heading North. Exploring the Grand Canyon during Winter

The Grand Canyon National Park is an amazing road trip destination that remains high on many peoples bucket list. It’s a must-see destination at least once in your lifetime. Standing on the edge of the Grand Canyon looking down into the canyon itself is breathtaking. It’s like nothing I have ever seen before. However, this spectacular destination can get quite busy during the summer months, with busloads of tourists, large RVs and tons of traffic. This is a great reason to visit the Grand Canyon during the Winter months. Myself personally, I prefer to road trip during the Fall and Winter months. There is less traffic on the roads, and definitely less tourists at these popular destinations.    Fun fact: did you know the Grand Canyon gets snow during the Winter months? Las Vegas Road Trip Ideas other than the famous strip

I’ve been to Las Vegas several times, and each time we go, the city changes with new features and attractions. It’s an exciting place to be, but did you know there are some amazing attractions and national parks around the Las Vegas area (that won’t cost you an arm and a leg to visit), all within a short drive from the Las Vegas strip, and all worth checking out. Before we get into our list, one of the most amazing experiences for me when traveling to Las Vegas was actually driving there, rather than flying. Nothing can really compare to the experience of driving, not only down the Las Vegas strip itself, but also the roads leading into Las Vegas.
