Retiring A Fellow Road Tripper: Moving On

For this weeks blog post, I wanted to share a more personal story about a fellow road tripper that we're retiring.

My 2000 Oldsmobile was inauguration into our road trip crew during our trip to California in 2010. In a previous blog, I mentioned some car trouble we had while road tripping through the Redwood Forest in California.

My little red car lasted through 4 years of university, 1 very large road trip, and many many small trips around the west coast of North America. After several years of great memories, it's time to retire my car and get a more reliable one :) It's sad to see a car go that you shared a large history with.

Exploring the Grand Canyon during Winter

The Grand Canyon National Park is an amazing road trip destination that remains high on many peoples bucket list. It’s a must-see destination at least once in your lifetime. Standing on the edge of the Grand Canyon looking down into the canyon itself is breathtaking. It’s like nothing I have ever seen before. However, this spectacular destination can get quite busy during the summer months, with busloads of tourists, large RVs and tons of traffic. This is a great reason to visit the Grand Canyon during the Winter months. Myself personally, I prefer to road trip during the Fall and Winter months. Four Corners Monument: The only place in America where 4 states meet

  This is a really interesting area of America. It’s the only place where you can find 4 states that meet. There are several states where you can find 3 states that meet, but this is the only place in America where you can find 4 states – those being Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado and Utah. Being from Canada, but also an avid road tripper, the first time I learned of this area, it was really fascinating, and we had to check it out. The drive up to 4 Corners Monument is spectacular, and worth a visit, but there isn’t a lot to do in this area once you get there, so it’s definitely an add on stop for an already existing road trip.   Getting to 4 Corners Monument While this area connects 4 states together, there are only 2 states that lead to this monument. You can access 4 Corners Monument from either Colorado vis Highway 160 heading SW, or from Arizona, along highway 160, heading North.
